Features of the Space
This document was created before the Student Initiative Center (SIC) had opened. The audience for this document was Chabot’s Facilities Committee, one of the entities who needed to approve the SIC being implemented.
It took about 2 years, and 9 presentations to the Facilities Committee before they granted final approval. During this long period of time, STUDENTS led the charge for the SIC. They were undaunted and insistent in their efforts.
It is not easy to navigate a collegiate institution to create something as innovative and ambitious as the SIC. The TEA team learned many lessons during this process that we share with faculty who are considering similar dreams at their own colleges.
