There is substantial research about how Action Learning increases student capacity, test scores, and sheer enjoyment of learning. The Student Initiative Center team at Chabot College created a program to support 14 teachers from across the curriculum to develop Action Learning initiatives. In this brochure teachers share their perspectives about integrating AL into their teaching (pgs 4-8). All 14 of the teachers were very enthusiastic about the experience. As one teacher says, “all of my students were enthusiastic about it. As the project was coming to a close several students remarked how they wish they got to do activities like this in other classes.” Action Learning amplifies student capacity like no other teaching modality, and is uniquely suited for teachers interested in addressing the Climate Crisis.
