3 manifestations of Love

We are aware this word is often taboo in academia--but we feature it unapologetically. TEA’s work seeks to uncover and build on 3 kinds of Love.. The first is Love for one’s own discipline. When faculty explore why they got into their discipline in the first place, this sets the stage for rethinking and restaging how they will make choices in the classroom.

2nd is Love for the students we serve. Call it Concern or Care or Commitment—or Love—it is the foundation for all our interactions with students and unleashes the power of the affective domain in maximizing their learning.

3rd is Love for the planet. Call it Concern or Care or Commitment—or Love—it is the foundation for all our interactions with Earth. Teachers who bring their love and passion for Climate Justice into the classroom empower their students. Tapping into these 3 kinds of Love is part of the process we undergo that allows us to become our own “Best Person” in service of achieving Climate Justice.
