Student Voice

An untapped resource in education — the students’ own voices

Teach Earth Action invites Student Voice into all aspects of our work. We do this because we know and trust that students are experts about understanding the truth of their own education, and the stakes for themselves in the face of the Climate Crisis. When a teacher engages students about their learning experience, among other things it enables the teacher to shape a story about what is happening in the class. When the teacher reflects that back to the students, they can share a meta-cognitive platform from which to dive more deeply into the issues. And when students bring their personal perspectives to education and to the Climate Crisis, the planet benefits.
